Transfer news Abel Xavier leaves Anfield Liverpool have cancelled Abel Xavier's contract by mutual consent. The Portuguese international, who still had 18 months left on his Reds deal, is set to join Hanover after enduring a disappointing sell at Anfield. Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry told the club's official website: "It was a mutual amicable decision for Abel to leave the club." The 31-year-old started only 13 Premiership games for Gerard Houllier's side following his move from Everton two years ago. He spent part of last season on loan at Galatasaray. Bolton loaned Semmy Bolton have completed the loan signing of Liverpool defender Jon Otsemobor until the end of the season. The 20-year-old sealed his move just before the transfer deadline on Monday and Bolton boss Sam Allardyce was delighted with his last-gasp deal. "Signing Jon on loan is an excellent capture for us," said Allardyce. "He is a mobile player who loves to push forward from the back. He has tremendous pace and an excellent passing game.
