adiós carling cup...
Its just one of those days... totally ruined by an own goal. And my oh my... guess who scored that own goal? Captain Marvel of all people; out of a seemingly harmless freekick. What an irony! Just when the rumours of him going to Stamford Bridge come summer spread like wildfire, he scored a 'crucial' own goal for his 'future' employer and got people labelling him as traitor. I felt the result was abit too harse for us. Our defence held firm despite the Blues attacking in waves. Dudek did well. He pulled save after save to keep us in the driving seat and somewat make up for the blunder he made against bayern lev. but that was not enough. a stevie g's own goal brought chelski into the game, cancelling out JAR's early goal (44sec -- i think that went into the record) and Jose Mourinho got sent off by the 4th official due to his gesture to the opposite fans. the own goal brought the game into extra time and by then, all our players were exhausted and we had used up all our substitutions. Eventually, chelski sealed the game with 2 goals in the 2nd period of E.T courtesy of Drogba and Kezman. Both from a lapse in concentration in defense. wat a shame to lose a cup final in this manner.
