signs of a champion?

We played poorly for 2 matches and yet we got all 3 pts from both. i actually felt for gareth southgate last nite when captain marvel scored the winner. i thought boro was robbed of a point. oh well... 3 points in the bag... lets move forward. had to comment benayoun was awful last night. and so were the left and right backs. they basically just hoofed the ball up front. we need a wide man... and we need javier back to break down attacks. the way boro came forward last nite was shocking. and ffs... its only boro.

i dun wan Barry!

can someone enlighten me why we are buying yet another central midfielder when we have 1. Gerrard 2. Alonso 3. Masch 4. Lucas 5. Plessis ? and getting Gareth Barry is like going down another level. why cant we be link to bigger names like Ronaldinho (cant believe Man City are going in for him!!!), Samir Nasri (going once, going twice, gone to the Emirates) etc. and can we settle our strikeforce and L/R winger problem first? CM is the last dept i would like into if i am Rafa.

Boro 1 Pool 1

honestly speaking, i would rather the team play well and lose instead of scrapping a draw in every match. we are awful during the first half. we cant even string more than 3 passes together and the players look like headless chicken running aimlessly on the pitch. the defence was pathetic and Arbeloa was completely useless. we do not have the desire to win the match right from the very beginning. and boateng's goal did not even knock any sense of urgency into our players. its pathetic.

2nd half started slow and we were still as boring. it was painful to watch the team and i switched channel for 20 mins or so. when i resume watching the game, we were still trailing by a goal until that miraculous strike by Torres. after that goal and a few changes, we looked perk up a bit but it was blatantly obvious that Boro had much more desire to win the match. we looked second to them in almost every dept. and as a team poised to be title challengers, we sux to the core! we struggled to beat teams like derby, sunderland, birmingham... and we looked mediocre when playing manure and arse. at the way we are playing, i dread the CL match against Inter Milan.

and for those we are still standing by Rafa...i pray that you be rationale and have a good look at the matches under his reign. we are not winning against team we are expected to win and we can never compete with the top teams. we lack consistency and after so many matches, he still cant get his winning XI sorted out. this is defintely not a knee-jerk reaction but rafa has lost it. rumors of his disagreement with the current owners are having a way to big impact on the team. its pretty obvious. and if the new owners think he is not the right man for the club, i beseech they get a replacement asap. the football club needs to understand the fact that we are no longer the 'best team in Europe' like we were in the 80's. this football club is just riding the success of the 80's team. we need to get a grip and realise we have become such a mediocre team. so mediocre that team like reading can get 3 points from us and we even struggle with lower division teams in the league cup and fa cup. i hope we have a change soon and i hope rafa can do something to prevent the slum. it hurts so badly tonight~

Newcastle 0 Liverpool 3

newcastle was woeful, liverpool was ordinary. that about sums up the match. we nv move out of 1st gear...din really need to do that as well. newcastle was kinda toothless in front of our goalmouth. and during the first 30 mins, we practically camped in their half. gerrard scored a beauty. caught the replay of that freekick numerous time and i think he did really well to curl the ball in, despite 2 monkeys jumping into him. the 2nd half did not start brightly for newcastle. kuyt scored the 2nd goal within 3 mins after the match re-started. hyypia flicked a well taken corner and kuyt was there to put the ball in the net with his knees LOL. Rafa substituted Babel for Kewell halfway thru and wat a substitution it proved to be. Babel repaid with a 3rd goal. Nice pass by Gerrard to setup the goal. Torres missed numerous chances to score...tbh, shay given made a few excellent saves. if not, the scoreline will be very different. last thing i wan to tok about this match is that sissoko was woeful tonite as well. stray passes, loses the ball so often and running around like a headless chicken. *sigh* totally different player compared to the first sem. i hope he can buck up, if not, pls sell him to Juv if they are interested.

Woeful~

caught the game at 1am local time last nite and tbh, i almost knocked out on a few occasions only to be 'revived' by the caffeine in my body. we were woeful. totally toothless up front and seriously lack of creativity. nobody noes what to do next once the ball is out of our own half. everyone just passes the ball around, not willing to take the responsibility to initiate an attack.

kuyt was shit upfront. missed several glorious chances to get the winning goal for us. y does he gets the chance to play week in week out when he is so out of form?! just because he converted 2 penalties during the everton game doesnt mean he is in form ffs. gerrard had 2 beautiful shot on target saved by brad friedel (i sometimes do not understand y we had let him go!). he played well except for the lack of support up front. could see his frustrations during the final 10 mins when kuyt dribbled the ball up front and could released it early for him to score but he miscommunicated and sends the ball in the wrong direction. wat a shame! kewell was good... at least he pumped in some creativity in attack when he comes on. sissoko was clueless most of the time. benayoun was ineffective in this situation. ryan babel couldnt even dribble pass the defenders... most of the time, he was guarded by 2 defenders and loses the ball very often. perhaps he is still young and lacks experience in the premier league. i will not write him off at this early stage. mascherano was good! i am beginning to like him more and more, esp the way he kills off an opponent's attack. i see him as a very good replacement for didi hamann!

at the back, carragher is still the same old carragher. played his heart out. hyypia is okay except i dislike him hoofing the ball upfront. he is slow and we seriously need to find a new CB to backup carra and agger. riise is SHIT! my god... can we buy a proper leftback?! this man cant dribble and most of the time, he is slow to get back to his position and often leaves a big space at the left back for the opponents. finnan is clueless... simply clueless when he comes up to attack.

i think this rotation shit should stop asap. how can the players form partnership or anyform of telepathy if they were to play with different team-mates week in week out?! god... we were god damn woeful last nite against an overrated blackburn team. they just had to pack 9 men in defense and we were totally stiffled. we need that special 'someone' who is able to change any match with his own individual moment of 'brillant-ness'. someone like ronaldino, drogba etc. but too bad... none of the players in the current team fit into the category.
