Finally, a 2-0 win against levski sofia in the eufa cup. tt shd make it easier for the return leg in bulgaria. thank god. milan baros was outstanding (i hope he'll get his first goal against leeds) and capt marvel to the rescue once again. and after scoring that crucial goal, gerrard ran up to gh and gave him a hug. touching indeed.
if gerrard and the players stand by the manager, i'll do so until the end of this season. anyway, its better to remain status quo and give gh till the end of the season to get things rite *fingers crossed* nontheless, it feels great to be able to win the match. hopefully the boys can maintain this consistency and aim for a cl place and the eufa cup (tough road ahead with teams like roma and barca thou).

GH, if u love this club, RESIGN! we are going nowhere and this once almighty club has turned into a laughing stock for every single person on the earth. my scum frens kept joking about liverpool's performances. it hurts me badly. real bad. but i cant retaliate...y? cos they are speaking the truth. every liverpool match is a joke. we have no tactics, we miss chance after chance, we chase the game as early as the 4th min and our best striker cant even take a proper penalty. we left our bamby on ice, our donkey over banana skin and our position unknown biscant running amok on the field. sigh~ the biggest jokes are GH's postmatch conferences. completely no dignity left.

wat can we do to get this clown out of the club? god, pls help my fallen club. stop this rot at once. GH OUT! i bet Stevie G must have regretted signing the new contract. n i feel bad for him. everyweek, he gives his 110%... and poor kewell, GH has totally ruin him. he looked so out of sorts nowadays...gosh~ ynwa, webmaster

Liverpool were left to thank their lucky stars as England duo Michael Owen and Steven Gerrard fired them into fourth place with a 2-1 victory over Manchester City. Had it not been for goals in each half by Owen and Gerrard, the Anfield men could easily have been embarrassed by unpredictable City. Owen's third-minute strike looked to have put Liverpool in the fast lane to victory. Bruno Cheyrou was fouled by Daniel van Buyten, and referee Mike Riley played advantage with Dietmar Hamann threading the ball through to Owen. The striker went past Richard Dunne and clipped the ball over David James. But City equalised through Shaun Wright-Phillips. Michael Tarnat played Steve McManaman into space and, with Robbie Fowler going on a decoy run to his left, McManaman threaded the ball into Wright-Phillips' path and he lashed a low shot into the bottom corner. However, Liverpool were back in front within just two minutes. The ball was lifted into City's box and Owen managed to make contact with James parrying the effort but allowing Gerrard to lash the loose ball into the net. The introduction of Danny Murphy had signalled Liverpool's intent to defend their lead, and it gave the initiative to City. McManaman sent Wright-Phillips in again on the right and his dink over Jerzy Dudek was cleared off the line by Sami Hyypia. Tarnat then powered in another cross from the left and Antoine Sibierski headed just wide of the post. The arrival of Igor Biscan from the bench for Cheyrou further annoyed the home fans - but at least there team is back in a Champions League spot. source: Ananova

Diao: I'm staying at Anfield Liverpool's Salif Diao has insisted that he is committed to his club after reports suggested that he wasn't entirely happy at Liverpool. Speaking on his official website at icons.com Diao said: "I can categorically state that nothing could be further from the truth. "I love playing for the club, the fans and I'm settled in the area." Diao admitted to being frustrated at his lack of matches in a Liverpool shirt but understands that his injury problems haven't helped his cause. source: Pink Football --------------------------------------- Wat a nightmare! I seriously think Diao is a poor buy and LFC is better off without him. Pls Diao, go if someone else wants you. You are simply not good enough for Liverpool! cheers, webmaster

Match Report: Bolton 2 Liverpool 2

Stevie G scored the equalizing goal
The troubled Anfield side got off to a bright start, Harry Kewell skipping away from Bolton defender Bruno N'Gotty after two minutes but his pass to Michael Owen was misdirected. Owen lost his marker a minute later when Steven Gerrard delivered a free-kick, only for his header to find the arms of goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen. Kewell then got away from Youri Djorkaeff on the left but Emerson Thome covered superbly to avert the danger. Bolton opened the scoring after 10 minutes with Nicky Hunt's first goal for the club. N'Gotty launched a free-kick from the centre circle which caused confusion in the Liverpool defence. Henrik Pedersen and Kevin Davies both got touches before Hunt rifled a shot home from the edge of the area. Pedersen should have extended Bolton's lead after 17 minutes, only to clear the bar in front of goal. Liverpool had been rattled by the goal and Jamie Carragher raced forward after 33 minutes. He tried his luck from 20 yards, only to see his effort go the wrong side of the post. Liverpool won a free-kick 22 yards out after 48 minutes when substitute Ibrahim Ba was pulled up for a foul on Gerrard. Cheyrou took the kick only to send his effort straight into the arms of Jaaskelainen. Liverpool equalised from a set-piece three minutes later. Sami Hyypia got on the end of a free-kick from Gerrard out on the right to send a powerful header beyond Jaaskelainen. Bolton regrouped and Djorkaeff edged them ahead again after 57 minutes with a superb half volley. The former World Cup winner reacted first when Davies clipped the ball into the area to deliver a clinical finish. Liverpool drew level for the second time in the 69th minute through Gerrard. The Anfield skipper ghosted in at the far post to get on the end of a cross from Le Tallec. Liverpool pressed forward in an attempt to grab the winner and Gerrard worked his way to the byline. He pulled the ball back into the path of Owen but he was not able to get a decent touch. N'Gotty sent a free header wide and then Davies was denied by Dudek in a rousing finish by Bolton. source: Ananova

Transfer news Abel Xavier leaves Anfield Liverpool have cancelled Abel Xavier's contract by mutual consent. The Portuguese international, who still had 18 months left on his Reds deal, is set to join Hanover after enduring a disappointing sell at Anfield. Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry told the club's official website: "It was a mutual amicable decision for Abel to leave the club." The 31-year-old started only 13 Premiership games for Gerard Houllier's side following his move from Everton two years ago. He spent part of last season on loan at Galatasaray. Bolton loaned Semmy Bolton have completed the loan signing of Liverpool defender Jon Otsemobor until the end of the season. The 20-year-old sealed his move just before the transfer deadline on Monday and Bolton boss Sam Allardyce was delighted with his last-gasp deal. "Signing Jon on loan is an excellent capture for us," said Allardyce. "He is a mobile player who loves to push forward from the back. He has tremendous pace and an excellent passing game. We needed to strengthen our defensive unit and Jon will add competition for places in this vital area. source: BBC sport

Match Report: Liverpool 0 Everton 0 Liverpool had started well with some neat inter-changing, but Everton's more robust style soon had them in the game, and only a bodycheck by Sami Hyypia stopped Rooney in full flow. The chances continued to flow. Alex Nyarko tested Dudek from 25 yards before Tony Hibbert's ball put Radzinski clear, but the Canadian allowed Dudek the faintest touch and the chance was lost. Steven Gerrard dominated midfield, and one surging run saw him unleash a 25-yarder that flashed wide of Martyn's right-hand post. The first moment of controversy came on 33 minutes when Hyypia looked to clip Radzinski as the striker was about to surge away from him, but referee Steve Bennett refused all Everton appeals for some action. The ball was fired to the other end, Michael Owen's touch put Gerrard clear in the box and it took another fine save from Martyn to deny the Reds. A second moment of controversy saw Jamie Carragher look to handle in the box and Everton finished the half raging at referee Bennett. The pace continued after the break. Rooney got past three men and clipped a shot over the bar, while Gerrard cut in from the right to slam a left-footer inches wide. Then Bruno Cheyrou missed a glittering chance when he flicked a header wide of the far post from Anthony Le Tallec's cross. Martyn made another fine block when Owen looked to get a faint touch on a swirling Gerrard free-kick. Carragher was next to test Martyn, lashing in a low drive from the left that the keeper turned over the bar with his legs. For Everton it was another precious point in their quest to haul themselves away from a possible relegation fight. source: Ananova
